Man Utd Successfully defending EPL title


Record-holder Ryan Giggs marked a lifetime's loyalty with the best present possible as he delivered another Premier League title to Manchester United as they beat Wigan 2-0.

United were in front but needing calming despite Cristiano Ronaldo's first-half penalty when Giggs kept his nerve to coolly slot home Wayne Rooney's through ball.

Reading rode their luck to inflict a 3-1 defeat on Liverpool and put

a dent in the Merseysiders' title challenge hopes. Stephen Hunt's

penalty was cancelled out by Steven Gerrard's 10th goal of the season,

but the home side were not to be denied and responded with

second-half goals from Kevin Doyle and James Harper.

Ryan Giggs' 100th league goal for Manchester United broke Derby's resistance at Old Trafford, setting the Red Devils on the road to an eighth successive Premier League home win.
